Father and Daughter Manga!
Our daughter loves a wonderful little manga book called “Manga Moods” by Saori Takarai. Here’s the cover…
Each page has a illustration depicting a different mood, along with some related phrases in Japanese and English. Here’s the description from Amazon.com
A raised eyebrow, a curled lip, a wink of the eye. All it takes is a single clever stroke of the G-pen to instantly change a manga character’s mood from one extreme to the other: glad to sad, sassy to shy, angry to embarrassed. Illustrator Saori Takarai presents original pencil sketches alongside her finished, full-color drawings, to show just how the transformations take place. In addition, each of the facial expressions is labeled with the Japanese word for the mood being depicted, along with common Japanese conversational phrases and simple translations, making this delightful book a great gift for aspiring artists, language enthusiasts and manga fans alike!
My daughter loves flipping through the pages and her favorite at the moment is “shy”. She was so shy in fact, that she asked her dad, Miguel Guerra to draw it for her. However, she had to color and ink it.
Father-Daughter Duo
Our father-daughter duo have worked together on previous occasions (click here and here) and their collaborations always create lovely art. This is no exception. Sofia did an amazing job on the colors and especially the inking! We were blown away at how much she’s developed as a little artist ♡〜٩( ˃́▿˂̀ )۶〜♡
