Another wonderful Fallas spent in Valencia, Spain. This is my third and I’ve grown addicted to the smell of churros with chocolate in the morning (although I’ve had better in other regions of Spain). Eating, drinking, the sound of the LOUDEST (and often illegal) firecrackers that bang so hard your ears hurt, bands playing music in a professionally drunken state, and the artistry & satire of those ninots – the giant statues, each finding their end in a huge bonfire as crowds happily watch while their cheeks glow in the flames on a chilly night. What’s not to love?
