Amigurumi Hello Kitty
My little Hello Kitty crochet plushies are complete! I made one for my daughter and one each for my cousin’s little girls. We’re visiting them in Portugal and I wanted to bring them something special and made with love. They’re such lovely kids! I really hope they like these. My daughter suggested Hello Kitty, so of course she got one too. The three can play together with their new toys soon.
Hello Kitty in Progress
Each Hello Kitty is slightly different because I was playing with the pattern. She is deceptively difficult! It’s hard to get the head the right proportion. I wanted to make the small enough for a child to carry around but large enough to sit in your hand.
Final height: 12.7 cm / 5″
The first was with the gold bow. This one took me three days to figure out!
Next was the pink bow. I adjusted the head slightly and improved on the body. I added more to her bottom to help her sit up, but I’m still debating if it’s a bit too wide. Hmmm.
Finally came the red bow. For this one I decided to experiment. I made the head a little wider and set the eyes a bit further apart to really give it that oval shape.
Which Hello Kitty is My Favorite?
I thought my favorite was the Hello Kitty with the pink bow. The more oval shaped head of the red bow seemed a bit too oval…until I added the whiskers. Then I couldn’t make up my mind! They’re only slightly different, but everyone I’ve asked has a favorite. What do you think?
